Project Brief

UBS had a clear goal to improve productivity, consistency and accuracy across their range of retail fund factsheets. The factsheets were created by a manual production workflow which occupied a number of marketing staff for a significant portion of the month. As the process was manual accuracy, in terms of design and data, was difficult and time consuming to deliver.

Our Solution

Electrum investigated the range of fund factsheets and identified key areas where design could be rationalised and consistency enforced across the brand. Electrum also identified that a move away from a manual system to an automated factsheet production system would not only have productivity benefits but would ensure accurate data was in use. During discussion with UBS it became clear that a hosted “Software as a Service (SaaS)” solution would be the best fit for their business needs.

Electrum provided the Factua managed service that enables UBS to generate and download customised factsheets. The factsheets are automatically generated from UBS proprietary fund data and Lipper performance data. Moving away from the manual fund factsheet production workflow to the fully automated Factua fund factsheet production system has achieved the goals of cutting production timescales and costs in half. The system has also delivered on the key requirements to ensure consistency and accuracy across the range of factsheets.
